(Stuff that I run across while remodeling St. Louis and St. Charles County)
“Are you there?”
Is what I overheard a neighbor to a bathroom remodel project saying as I walked to my truck to get a new blade for my drywall knife.
I look over and I see the neighbor staring at the phone as he herrumphs. I see him stab the phone with his finger…
“Yeah…You there? Yeah, I don’t know what happened?! I guess we lost our connection. Can you hear me? Yeah that was weird so where were we?”
As much as AT&T, Sprint and Verizon would like to make us think that the mobile cellular technology is perfect – it’s not. Once in awhile stuff will happen and guess what? That’s a part of the deal!
So just set the phone down when the connection is lost or if the connection is bad – end the call, then sit it down. Wait a few minutes. Relax…Otherwise you both are going to be trying to call each other and waste even more time, so relax…
If the other person hasn’t called back, call them and just pick the conversation up where it was left off before the thirty five hellos.
Get on with it and move onto something else. How many minutes in total have been lost by having that exact scene replayed countless times?
Matter of fact, it’s Friday and I have a cold beer sitting right in front of me while I waste my time writing this and your time reading it.
Hey! Chalk it up as a public service announcement!
Have a safe weekend!
