It occurred to me when going through my backlog of pictures that I did not have a full set of complete after pictures for one of my more enjoyable kitchen remodels. The reason this kitchen remodel was so enjoyable (they all are but this one was a little extra special, which I will explain her in a moment) was I was in a position to really help out a homeowner.
This homeowner had bought a ‘remodeled home’ of which sure some of it was remodeled – to a point. The truth of the matter is that the “remodelers” did just enough to get the home to pass minimum codes and that was all they were going to do.
There was a few electrical, plumbing and exhaust issues that needed to be resolved before we could place the cabinets for this kitchen. I was express to my licensed sub contractors in electrical, plumbing and HVAC the extent of the situation which allowed for the updates to be made at a reasonable price.
The drywall behind the cabinets was removed after the cabinets were taken down to give access to the electrician, plumber and HVAC contractor. Afterwards we installed and finished new drywall before installation of the cabinets. Once I had the cabinets installed I ordered the template for the granite counters and a few days later they were installed.
I spoke with this wonderful homeowner this morning asking if it was possible to be sent final pictures and she did so. She now has a little one and it did my heart proud knowing that she has a wonderful kitchen that she will be able to cook for and nourish her child.
